Ed – Where did you first come across Smokoo? Was it from one of the My Digital Life members?
Sean1092 – A little while ago I was buying movie tickets on the Ster Kinekor website and I saw one of your banners there.
Ed – When was this? Last year sometime?
Sean1092 - #laughs# no, January this year. I’ve been a member since about the 16th.
Ed – You are quite a well-known blogger, for those Smokoo members who don’t know who you are, what is your blog name?
Sean1092 – On My Digital Life it’s The Oracle.
Ed – Having a fair amount of knowledge in the online space, I’m sure you’ve seen we have a few sceptics voicing their opinions. What are your thoughts on this?
Sean1092 – You know, everyone’s a sceptic until they know someone that won and collected their goods. It will take time.
Ed – Our new members are always interested to hear what some of the more successful bidders have to say about strategy. What can you tell us about bidding strategy?
Sean1092 – A few points I would recommend new members consider. It’s all about timing. But to start off, watch a couple of auctions straight through. From beginning to end. In this way you will begin to notice different bidders apply different strategies.
You need to develop your own strategy, a strategy that works for you. Remember, each auction is different, and therefore each auction requires different strategy. Also, don’t play the ego game, use your head. You play the ego game, you’ll become impatient and lose credits. Be adaptable.
Go in strong with some auctions, make your presence felt. You also need to say when enough is enough. If you are a single bidder, don’t go up against auto bidders. It just makes sense not to.
It’s not difficult to develop a good strategy to help you win auctions.
Ed – That’s very interesting. Thanks, I’m sure new members will gain benefit from your insight.
Ed – Who would you consider to be your nemesis on Smokoo?
Sean1092 – Hemi300c
Ed – AJGREY?
Sean1092 - #laughs# I just run away from AJGREY when I see him bidding.
Ed – If you had to run Smokoo for a day, what would you do differently?
Sean1092 – I would introduce an autobid auction, no single bidders allowed.
Ed – Great idea! Thanks so much for your time and we look forward to your next blog post.
Sean1098 – Thanks!
Ed.
