Protect yourself
- I have received an email requesting details of my account. What should I do?
- Smokoo will never ask you to reveal any details of your account either by email, SMS or any other means. This data is confidential and it is only accessible to you and anyone with whom you choose to share it.
- In the unlikely event that you are ever required to make any alteration to your account such a request will appear only on the official Smokoo website.
- What is phishing?
- This is a fraudulent practice designed to encourage the unsuspecting to reveal details about themselves that could vulnerable to account fraud or identity theft.
- Emails and text messages you receive may look authentic and contain actual company logos but the links given will take you to a dummy site that may look very similar to the genuine one.
- How do I know when I am on the real Smokoo website?
- Smokoo uses an internationally recognised certification service. Look for the padlock sign in your browser’s toolbar that, when clicked, will reveal a certificate to identify our site as genuine. No other person can obtain certification for a website that uses our registered domain name since these are, by definition, unique and duplication is therefore not possible.
