Great ideas for future auctions, from joefarah

Joefarah talks to us about the kinds of auctions he would love to see on the site, and boy does he have some good ideas! He’s been a member of Smokoo since November and in that time he’s swooped through the site like a tornado, amassing a stash of all the hottest products on some of the most fiercely contested auctions.

Here’s how the chat went:

Ed - Thanks for taking the times to chat to us. One of the reasons we do these interviews is for our new members to gain some insight in to Smokoo from different winning perspectives.
Joe – Great.
Ed – You joined the site in November last year. How did you come across the site?
Joe – I didn’t, my fiancé did. She was looking for an iPad online and came across one of the Smokoo ads. She told me about it and I had a look at the site. I then registered and started watching auctions and thinking of strategies.
Ed – Speaking of strategy, what advice could you give our new bidders?
Joe – Make sure you have enough credits before you commit to an auction.
Ed – Thanks for the advice. I was looking through a list of your recent purchases and I see you bought one of the AR Drones. Having a lot of fun with it?
Joe – The drones are great!
Ed – We LOVE them here at the office, but almost always get ourselves into trouble flying them around Rivonia J
Ed – Nemesis, do you have one?
Joe – I have quite a few - #laughs # - like Ying and Hawthorne.
Ed – From these interviews we have seen everyone is everyone else’s nemesis. Maybe we should organise a World Cup of Auctions, where the best strategy wins! Are you going to bid in the Mini auction?
Joe – No, I just ordered my fiancé a brand new Countryman and I have no space at my house for another car.
Ed – I’m sure you’ve seen we’ve had a couple of bloggers online giving us a bit of flack. Besides the lengths we go to, what more could we do to show people we are by no means a scam?
Joe – Why not put up a webcam in your office?
Ed – Not a bad idea, but I think it would be so boring to watch! We are just a regular office, grinding it out, day in and day out.
Ed – Okay, so I know you have some great ideas for future auctions. What would you be interested in seeing auctioned on the site?
Joe – How about motorbikes, and property? Or what about tickets to events like the J&B MET, or the upcoming Top Gear event?
Ed – Sounds good!
Joe – Or you can auction off a party for 35K for you and ten friends at some hot location. People will jump on to something like that.
Ed – Listen, those are GREAT ideas. Let’s catch up again in a few months and we can see how things are going.
Joe – Thanks!

Ed.
