- I placed a bid but it didn’t register. Why?
- From time to time you may place a bid just before the countdown timer ends but it does not register in the auction. The most likely explanation for this is that it is due to latency on the Internet. Information transfer between computers is not instantaneous and is dependent upon your PC’s performance as well as the available bandwidth which is a variable. Although you need to bid as late as possible to improve your chances of a win, you must not leave it too late!
You can minimise lag by freeing up your PC and Internet resources as follows...
- Cease any other download or upload activities such as video, gaming, email etc while you are bidding.
- Make sure that no one else in your household is making use of the same Internet connection while you are bidding.
