Ed – Thanks so much for chatting to us.

NDK – It’s a pleasure.

Ed – Everyone comes across Smokoo in a different way. How did YOU come across Smokoo?

NDK – One of my friends told me about Smokoo, and that you could get stuff really cheap.

Ed – So you joined last year?

NDK – Yes. I joined end of November.

Ed – And since then, what items have you bought?

NDK – The first product I wanted, was the BlackBerry 9300, and I got it. I also bought an iPad 64 gig, and iPhone 4 and today I am picking up my new earphones, the Beats by Dr. Dre.

Ed – Great. Now let’s talk strategy. What do you do to secure auctions for yourself?

NDK – What I do is, I look at the retail price. Then I look at the cost of the bid. I also study all the previous auctions of the same product. Then I plan a strategy. I set a threshold before that needs to be reached before I start bidding, based on my research.

Ed – Some bidders set a certain amount of credits they are willing to bid on an item, do you set an amount for yourself?

NDK – Yes. But I always go over it #laughing#

Ed – Who is tough to bid against?

NDK – RobTheBrue, and mchammer.

Ed – Speaking of RobTheBrue, did you take part in the Mini auction?

NDK – I feared the Mini! I thought it was going to go for days, and all the big bidders were going to fight it out. I actually wanted to try bid at the end, but it went so quick.

Ed – We also thought it would be a longer auction. What items would you like to see auctioned on the site, that aren’t already being auctioned?

NDK – High-end HTC stuff would be cool.

Ed – I hear you’ve been giving your colleagues Smokoo strategy lessons back at your office. How did that come about?

NDK – Everyone was sceptical when I won my first auction, but when I went back to the office with my BlackBerry about ten of my colleagues signed up on Smokoo. I now give strategy classes to most of them.

Ed – What kind of advice do you give them?

NDK – To be patient #laughs#

Ed – Okay, here’s a question for you. If you owned Smokoo for a day, what would you do differently?

NDK – I would have more big ticket auctions running at the same time.
